Update Your UPS and FedEx Integration for Seamless Shipping
If your business relies on UPS or FedEx for shipping, it’s crucial to stay updated with the latest API changes to ensure uninterrupted service. Both carriers are rolling out significant updates that require action on your part. Below, we outline the steps needed to successfully update your integration with UPS and FedEx, keeping your shipping operations running smoothly.
UPS Integration Update: Ensure Seamless Shipping
Why This Update Matters
UPS is modernizing its API to enhance security, improve functionality, and boost performance. While these updates bring long-term benefits, they require immediate action. Merchants must migrate to the new system by As Soon As Possible. Failure to do so will disrupt your ability to process and manage shipments through UPS.
How to Update Your UPS Integration
Follow these critical steps to ensure a smooth transition:
- Create an Application for the New API
- Visit the UPS Developer Guide to create an application.
- Obtain your Client ID and Client Secret, essential for integration.
- Select the Correct Permissions
During Step 4 of the setup, enable the following permissions:- Authorization (OAuth) – Secure communication
- Address Validation Partner – Accurate address information
- Tracking – Monitor your shipments
- Time in Transit – Estimate delivery times
- Shipping – Enable shipment processing
- Freight Rating – Ensure accurate freight pricing
- Add the Correct Callback URL
In the “Callback URL” field, enter:https://www.winefetch.com/retailers/template/ups-oauth-authorize.html
- Verify Alcohol Shipping Eligibility
If your business ships alcohol (e.g., wine, spirits), confirm that your UPS account is configured to handle these shipments and complies with UPS regulations. - Update Your WineFetch Admin Page
- Log in to your WineFetch admin page.
- Navigate to the UPS integration section within your shipping manager.
- Enter your Client ID, Client Secret, and Shipper Number.
- Click Save Information to finalize the update.
Benefits of Updating Your UPS Integration
- Enhanced Security – Modern authentication methods keep your data safe.
- Improved Performance – Faster and more reliable shipping.
- Expanded Functionality – New features streamline your process.

Label Certification
FedEx requires you to create test shipping labels using your Test Keys and submit them for certification. Follow these steps:
- Generate test labels within the FedEx test environment.
- Submit the labels to the FedEx label evaluation team for approval.
- Labels must be printed at a minimum of 600 DPI (Do not send API-generated files).
- Thermal printers must use the correct image type (e.g., ZPLII for Zebra printers).
- Ensure correct shipper/recipient address information.
- Include auxiliary Air Waybill (AWB) labels for FedEx International Express® shipments.
- Send the PDF and Label Cover Sheet to [email protected].
- If mailing physical labels, use this address:FedEx Services
WTC-Business Solutions Testing
10 FedEx Parkway
2nd Floor Horizontal
Collierville, TN 38017 - Note: If the scanned labels are without visible defects (such as lines going through the barcode, spots in the ink, or physical damage), then they may pass inspection and approval will be granted.
- If sending physical labels, pay attention to print quality and accidental enlargement/shrinkage of labels (i.e. scaling). These are the top two reasons why labels do not pass the label evaluation process.
WineFetch Shipping Manager Setup
Once you have completed the certification process, enter your Production API Keys into the WineFetch Shipping Manager:
- Visit: WineFetch Shipping & Taxes Setup
- Enter your credentials and production URL.
- Click Save, then Test to ensure everything is correct.
- If the test fails, verify your credentials or contact WineFetch Support for help.
