Those who expect moments of change to be comfortable and free of conflict have not learned their history. ~Joan Wallach Scott
Recently, we have released a number of enhancements to Vision.
This, in itself, is nothing new; we are continually modifying the program to improve its functionality, add new features and satisfy customer requests.
Many of these changes, however, have resulted in more customer interaction than we had anticipated. Whether it’s re-building shortcuts, understanding the new password rules or taking advantage of new security features, a number of customers have contacted us to work out the rough patches of the updates.
There have been a number of issues that we, as a company, have had to face. Some of the tools that we have used historically are no longer contemporary. New tools have been introduced that will allow future versions of Vision to expand. Still others have been rendered obsolete (just as you have faced the end of life of Windows XP).
A decision was made to advance the Vision product in multiple areas all at once rather than phase various components in over time. We felt that the additional support that this required would be on a one-time basis, instead of multiple times over the next 6 months.
An unfortunate side-effect of this is the variety of the Vision User Base. While some have kept current with technology, many others have held on to their original PC’s well past their expiration date. We continued to support these older platforms as long as possible, however we have reached a point where the differences between old and new technology is too difficult to support.
We appreciate your patience as we work through these with each of you. It is a path that started a month ago and will probably continue another 30-45 days. We have noticed, however, that the support calls are beginning to taper off as we address more of the variables that exist throughout our customer base.
In summary, we thank you for your patience as we work through these upgrades. We have a lot of exciting functions planned using some of the tools that have been placed in your system and we are certain that future releases will progress more smoothly. We are certain that your discomfort today will lead to a long term benefit as we enhance the Vision system to meet new and exciting challenges in the future.
