We consider ourselves very lucky to have been introduced to the people of St Bernard Parish in Greater New Orleans. On two separate trips, we have seen the conditions that exist for the residents as a result of Hurricane Katrina. We have been motivated to get involved helping residents to move back in to their homes. Other agencies are involved in assisting the Katrina victims in rebuilding their houses. Our mission is to help them complete the process by providing as many household items as we can, including furniture and appliances.

The third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina is August 29th. To help bring awareness to the continued plight of the NOLA residents, Furnishing For Hope will be delivering a truck of donated furniture and other household goods to the Greater New Orleans area, which will go to 10 families the weekend of October 3rd and 4th. We are also planning to locally purchase furniture and appliances to help an additional five families. That is 15 households and several dozen lives that will be directly affected.

To cover the costs of this initiative, Furnishing For Hope needs to raise $7,000 by the end of September.

Please VISIT www.furnishingforhope.org and learn about the plight of the NOLA residents and the goals of Furnishing For Hope. PASS ALONG this website and our information to your friends, relatives, church groups, business associates and any other person you think would be interested in assisting our mission.

Hopefully, you will be as motivated to HELP as we are.
